Mariachis Rock

Coming down in the 1 to the AIESEC office this morning I was feeling a little annoyed that my MP3 player wasn't working. I barely missed the transfer to the 2 at 72nd street so it was local all the way down from 108 to 28. Just as I checked my MP3 player one more time (nope, still "need to sync to update subscription"), two Mexicans with guitars came into the subway car and started playing. It instantly made my day; I couldn't help but smile and noticed that everyone else in the subway car was smiling too. Almost at the same time, most people pulled out their wallets to put dollars in the hat that a younger Mexican girl was walking around with.

Reconstruction

I'm out of the office today...working from Starbucks. We're getting the place repainted and recarpeted. I spent the day Friday with Justin clearing the whole place out and moving all our funiture to Dody's old apartment. The reconstruction is long overdue; it will be nice to finally have clean carpeting and walls without furniture marks on them! Today is painting, tomorrow carpeting. Wednesday we will probably spend time re-wiring the place for Ethernet and bit by bit rebuilding the office.

Office Sans Dody

Office is feeling a little empty today. Dody is in Egypt and his corner is nicely yet disconcertingly void of the sound of music blaring through headphones he normally puts on and cranks up.

Followup from Egypt

I finally have had a chance to upload all my Egypt photos. You can find them here. On my last day I finally had some R&R so Yasser and I did some sightseeing. Here we are at the Pyramids. We actually rode all around Cairo on horseback like this. Getting through the traffic was something. Anyway we had dinner on the Nile and saw some belly dancing which was pretty cool.
